Choose Your Learning Path

There are three ways to get started with content:

🤖 AI Generation (Premium)

Paste a YouTube video link or describe what you want to learn (e.g., "Spanish restaurant vocabulary"). AI will create a complete deck for you in seconds.

📥 Import Existing Cards

Already have flashcards from Anki, Quizlet, or a spreadsheet? Import them easily. See our Import Guide for instructions.

✍️ Create Cards Manually

Start simple: create 10-20 cards with basic words like "hello," "thank you," "yes," "no." This is perfect for beginners who want full control.

Set Your Preferences

Customize Grafoxi to match your learning style:

  • Target Language: Select the language you're learning
  • Native Language: Choose your native language for translations
  • Daily Goal: Set how many new cards you want to learn per day (start with 5-10)
  • Retention Rate: Keep the default 90% unless you want more/fewer reviews
  • Notifications: Enable reminders to build a daily habit

Start Learning!

Now comes the fun part—actually learning:

  1. Open your deck and tap "Study Now"
  2. Look at the front of the card and try to recall the answer
  3. Tap to reveal the answer
  4. Rate how well you remembered: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy
  5. The FSRS algorithm schedules the next review automatically

Important: Be honest with your ratings! The algorithm learns from your feedback and optimizes your schedule accordingly.

Build the Habit

Consistency is key to language learning. Here's how to make it stick:

  • Review daily: Even 5-10 minutes makes a difference
  • Same time, same place: Link reviews to an existing habit (morning coffee, commute, before bed)
  • Start small: Better to review 5 cards daily than 50 cards once a week
  • Track your streak: Watch your progress in the statistics tab
  • Don't stress about perfection: Missing a day isn't the end—just pick up where you left off

💡 Pro Tips for Success

  • Don't create too many cards at once: Quality over quantity. 10 well-made cards beat 100 rushed ones.
  • Use images and audio: Visual and auditory cues dramatically improve retention.
  • Keep cards simple: One concept per card. If a card is too complex, split it into multiple cards.
  • Review in context: Try to use new words in sentences or conversations as soon as possible.
  • Trust the algorithm: Don't manually reschedule cards unless absolutely necessary. FSRS knows what it's doing.
