Import Cards

Bring your existing flashcards into Grafoxi

Grafoxi makes it easy to import your existing flashcards from other platforms or create your own custom decks. Whether you're migrating from Anki, Quizlet, or creating cards from scratch, we've got you covered.

📋 Card Structure

Every Grafoxi flashcard consists of two main components:

🎯 Front (Question Side)

This is what you see first—the prompt, question, or word you're trying to remember. It's the cue that triggers your memory.

✅ Back (Answer Side)

This is the answer, translation, or information you're trying to learn. It's revealed after you attempt to recall.

🔤 Transcription (Optional)

Add pronunciation guides, phonetic transcriptions, or additional notes to help with memorization. This field is completely optional.

Supported Import Formats

📄 CSV (Comma-Separated Values)

The most common and versatile format. CSV files can be created with Excel, Google Sheets, or any text editor.

Basic Format (Front, Back)

Front Back
Hello 你好 (Nǐ hǎo)
Thank you 谢谢 (Xièxiè)
Goodbye 再见 (Zàijiàn)

Extended Format (Front, Back, Transcription)

Front Back Transcription
Hello 你好 Nǐ hǎo
Thank you 谢谢 Xièxiè
How are you? 你好吗? Nǐ hǎo ma?

🔍 Cloze Deletion Format

Cloze deletion is a powerful technique where you hide specific words in a sentence. Use double curly braces {{word}} to mark words for deletion.

Front,Back "Paris is the capital of {{France}}","Paris is the capital of France" "The {{Eiffel Tower}} is located in Paris","The Eiffel Tower is located in Paris" "Water boils at {{100}} degrees Celsius","Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius"

When reviewing, you'll see: "Paris is the capital of [...]" and need to recall "France".

🏷️ Tags (Organization)

Add tags to organize your cards into categories. Separate multiple tags with semicolons.

Front Back Tags
Hello 你好 greetings;basic;hsk1
Restaurant 餐厅 food;places;hsk2

💡 Pro Tips

  • Keep cards simple—one concept per card works best
  • Use the transcription field for pronunciation guides, not translations
  • If your text contains commas, wrap it in quotes: "Hello, friend",你好
  • Test with a small file first (5-10 cards) before importing large decks
  • Use tags to organize cards by difficulty, topic, or source
