How Grafoxi Uses AI

When you use AI features to generate flashcards (from YouTube, topics, or files), we send your content to third-party AI providers (like OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) to process and generate cards.

What we send: Only the specific content you choose to process (video transcript, topic description, or file text).
What we DON'T send: Your personal information, existing flashcards, or study history.

AI-powered translation converts text between languages. We use leading translation APIs to provide accurate, context-aware translations.

What we send: The specific text you want translated.
What we DON'T send: Any identifying information or unrelated content.

3. Voice Synthesis

Text-to-speech AI generates natural-sounding pronunciation for your flashcards.

What we send: The text to be spoken.
What we DON'T send: Your voice recordings or personal data.

4. Conversation Practice (Grafoxi Talk)

AI conversation partners help you practice speaking. The AI needs to understand your speech to respond appropriately.

What we send: Your voice input during conversation practice sessions.
What we DON'T send: Conversations are processed in real-time and not stored permanently.

  • We DON'T train AI models on your data — Your flashcards and study history are never used to train AI
  • We DON'T sell your data — Your information is never sold to third parties
  • We DON'T share your personal information — AI providers only receive the specific content you choose to process, with no identifying information
  • We DON'T store AI conversations permanently — Conversation practice sessions are processed in real-time and discarded
  • We DON'T use your content for marketing — Your flashcards and learning materials remain private

Grafoxi uses AI services from industry-leading providers:

  • OpenAI (GPT models for text generation)
  • Google Cloud AI (translation and speech)
  • Anthropic (Claude for advanced reasoning)
  • ElevenLabs (premium voice synthesis)

These providers have their own privacy policies and data handling practices. We've chosen providers that prioritize privacy and security.

Important: We use business/enterprise tiers of these services, which typically include stronger privacy protections and data retention policies.

📅 Data Retention

Your Flashcards & Progress

Stored securely in our database as long as you have an account. You can delete your account and all data at any time.

AI Processing Data

Content sent to AI providers is processed in real-time and not permanently stored by us. Third-party providers may have their own retention policies.

Voice Recordings

Conversation practice audio is processed in real-time and not stored. We don't keep recordings of your voice.

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your data at any time
  • Export: Download your flashcards and progress
  • Delete: Remove specific cards or your entire account
  • Opt-out: Use Grafoxi without AI features (manual card creation only)
  • Control: Choose which AI features to use
